You choose the colors for the background, text, and new-v-a links. As you choose each, the right sidebar changes colors. You copy the body tag thus generated. If you want a patterned background, there are 150 to choose from, arranged in more than 20 major color themes. Also, links to other helpful color sites. Leo's Color Wizard - Here's one of the most useful color tools around. Just click on the value of either red, green or blue in the right column. You'll get 255 color squares of combinations of that base color with the other two, ranging from saturated to pastel. Click on a square, that color comes up as a bgcolor with various font colors over it. List of Colors by The Professor - The named colors with their hex codes, including all the many grays! The text colors correspond to the colors listed. So you can change the bg color to see which text colors go with your selection. A link to a hex to rgb converter. Moondogee's Cubes of Colors - This url goes to the Silvers & Grays chart. There are links to the other specialized charts, such as Golds, Neons, Purples, etc. Mouseovers change the page bgcolor to the individual cube's hue. Also hex and RGB conversions. Netscape's Color Cubes - WOW! This chart is really something. You select how many colors you want to appear in the chart, up to 512, then hit the appropriate buttons. The chart appears in place of the directions. You can place the cursor over any little cube and that color will appear as a stripe to the right of the whole chart. Its hex designation is given at the lower left. U-L-T-R-A's Giant Color Chart - Over 500 colors arranged mostly by color family. Shows the hue, the name, the RGB code and the hex code for each. Move cursor over each color and the background changes to that color. VisiBone - This site is the granddaddy of all color sites, offering not only a Color Lab for choosing colors (not too MSNTV friendly unless you have a magnifying glass to see the individual cells in the chart), but also other color charts, and HTML and CSS charts. WasntMe's Fade 2 White - A fabulous tool, featuring 5 hues plus black-white. Starting with the darkest, you can move the cursor down the chart over many different shades and tints of each color. The background changes to whatever color the cursor is on, plus the hex code for that color is displayed. WebTV-PC Color Picker - Tom Landrum has taken over this color tool from its maker who died recently. You pick a color of text and body, then this tool shows you what the combo looks like, so you can choose pleasing and readable color combos. FONT & BACKGROUND TOOLS Barbara's Font & Background Color Picker - A very cool tool, but does not show different font effects. Body Tag Generator - MSNTV ONLY Has more font styles that MSNTV supports than Lobone's below, including blackface! Also you can test which font effects work with which bgcolor and text colors. Color Lab - Neat page, showing how different font colors will show up on different colored bgs, but doesn't show font effects. Cool Rule Color Tool - This is a tool that works for computer browsers with Java enabled. However, MSNTV users can get a good idea of what happens when we want to combine colors, using our gradcolor attribute. Chose beginning and ending colors and see the HTML coding. MSNTV users can't use it but can see the hexcodes used in the gradients. Devilmanozzie's Rainbow Color Chart - Can load very slowly, but worth the wait. Has a chart of 24 pastel gradations of the rainbow, also 24 gradations of dark tones and 24 gradations of grayed tones, from reds to purples. Click on a square and you go to a page with 40 additional squares of colors very close to that one. Put the cursor on one of these and the bgcolor changes to that hue.Text as that hex code, but in various colors, shows which colors of text go well with it. Glimermann's Color Picker - Colors arranged alphabetically by names, with corresponding hex and rgb codes. Click to change the bgcolor. Jazzy-J's Color Charts, Cubes & Gizmo's, etc - Jazzy-J has assembled links to 31 Interactive "gizmos" and tools. Annotated to give you an idea for which ones to select. Tyhart's Color Coder - This very userful color management tool: coverts RGB to Hex; Hex to RGB; Color Name to Hex; Gives the Inverse color of any Hex and displays both in a table; Shows 2 bg colors (page & table); Changes bg and/or font colors. COLOR GRABBERS Tom Landrum's Color Grabber - This useful tool allows you to upload an image, click on the color you want to match, and then it gives you the color code. Webby Color Grabber - You get not only the color you've clicked on in the image in hex and RGB codes, but you also get its inverse (opposite) color in hex code. Takes, jpgs, pngs and gifs. Flo's Color Playground - MSNTV ONLY Altho not strictly color theory classroom style, this contains suggestions for interesting activities you can do with colors and learn more about the colors of light in the process, Inherent.com's Triadic Color Harmony - The color wheel shown on this page is a great tool. A white triangle shows which hue triads harmonize with each other. Just mentally move the triangle around to select other triads. Here is my modification of this chart.
