EXTREME SWIRL FOR IMAGE FRAMING

an Image Magick Tutorial by Flo
  1. After loading image at IM, click on Decorate.

  2. For a large image, delete what's in the parameter box and type in 40x40. For a smaller image, use 20x20.

  3. Delete "gray" in the color box. Type in "none." (Sometimes border will be transparent, sometimes black!)

  4. Click on Border, then Decorate.

  5. Click on F/X.

  6. Delete numbers in box and type in 25000 (25 thousand). Click on Swirl. Click on Effect.

  7. Now try different composites with the original on this oval/circle moire frame and banner you have created. Or use another image of the same size. Output as usual.
(stop printer when you see this line)

Extreme Swirl

Composite Multiply 3x

Composite Copy Red 2x

I made the above images before Mr. Cristy updated the IM interfaces. So now, if you want to do a composite using CopyRed, CopyGreen or CopyBlue, you must go to Dave's Composite Tool. Scroll down in the Composite Methods menu dropdown to Channel Coping Methods.
