DRAWING A 5-POINT STAR
an Image Magick tutorial by Flo
- Go to Arbor or any other Image Magick site. Do NOT enter any image url.
- Instead, scroll down to page bottom. Click on Implicit under Format and scroll to xc and click again. Delete numbers in Size box and type in 200x200.
- In Meta box under the Size box, type in the word transparent. Leave all other settings as is.
- Scroll up and click on View, under the url box.
- On next screen click on Draw among the tabs.
- Choose Polyline from the Primitives.
- Enter the following into the Coordinates box:
- Type in Fill and Stroke colors. Stroke width=2. Click on Draw, under Coordinates box.
- Output as a gif, Image Type - Truecolor Matte, to maintain the transparent background.

The above coordinates make a perfect 5-point star.
To skew a star, change the three 75s in the above coordinates to other numbers. Experiment and have fun.

The technique for the equal-armed star was discovered by BeeDiana. She used the Arc primitive instead of the Polyline ~
~ and modified by Flo for this tute.
