With this unique tool, we can render text in a circle or an arc around the edges of a banner.
You can find Dave's Tools here - Dave's Tools Index page.
- Click on the Spherical Text Banner tool.
- Type the text into the top blue box.
- Change name of output image and choose quality for a jpg or png.
- Size of background. Dave has only the width listed, but since there are two boxes, the lower one is for the height.
- Background color: no names, only hex or RGB. For hex, leave the 0x and change just the FF in each of the 3 boxes. Red is the first, green 2nd, blue 3rd. For RGB, delete everything in each box, then type in the appropriate numbers.
- Font color - same treatment as the bg color.
- Choose a font from the drop down menu. Dave has only a few fonts available for us.
- Choose point size. If you have only a few words, you can go much larger than the default 20.
- Starting positions: 270, 90, 360, 180. These are degrees around a circle. If you choose 270, your text phrase will have its center at the top (12 o'clock). With 90 (6 o'clock), the center will be at the bottom. 360 (3 o'clock) puts the center at the right side, while 180 (9 o'clock) centers the text phrase at the left side.
These were made without using the offset for a border
- Radius: 360 makes a complete circle; 180 makes half a circle. For a quarter circle use 90.
- Finally, click on the radio button. This is one tool for which you'll probably be using the Back button at least several times, before you get what you want. Click on the final image and TL as usual.
Remember: We are limited only in our imaginations and creativity.
